Carpet Cleaning Yourself

Did you ever notice that when you try to clean your carpets yourself or try to remove a spot, the carpets get dirty real quick or the spot comes back?  The reasons are simple and here are a few of them.

1.  With all rental carpet cleaners, the company sells you a solution to put in the tank. These surfactants (surface acting agents) aka soap, leave carpets looking really good for a few days or so but the residue from the surfactants usually remain behind and ends up attracting dirt rather than repelling it. The result is similar to wiping your feet or dirty shoes on the carpet.

2.  Over wetting the carpet (which is easy to do) will spread the spots and dirt into the carpet and padding which makes them not only return but spread as the solution migrates underneath. The end result is a returning spot which is larger than the original one. This can be very dangerous since the carpet can't breath and can cause mold and mildew which when vacuumed is released into the air we breathe.

3.  Carpets installed in the basement over an unsealed or even a sealed cement floor will cause the same problems as above but at a much faster and noticeable rate since inherently there is a lot more moisture below ground and no where for it to go unless you have a dehumidifier sufficient to cover the required square footage. This can be very costly and most homes do not have them.

At Accent Carpet & Upholstery Cleaners we utilize a cleaning process that not only eliminates these problems, we guarantee it or we will clean it again for free!
