Carpet Cleaning Process
At Accent Carpet & Upholstery Cleaners we utilize a 10-step cleaning process to help restore your carpets and remove the contaminants hidden within them. Unlike some other “cleaning” companies, we don’t cut corners or add on additional cost incurring extras to maximize profit. Everything you need is included in our price, from pre vacuuming to moving furniture and any solutions necessary. We take the time to do it right, but if for any reason you are not happy with the results we will come back at your convenience to make the necessary corrections on us!

1. Measure: You most likely contacted us to get an idea of the cost before we came out. If you had your exact measurements, you already received a quote for our services, and this is what you pay. If you had an idea of the sizes but not quite sure, we gave you an “estimate only’ and now we will measure to make sure we are on the same page for cost. If the price we quote is not what you expected and you decide it’s not for you, no harm / no foul! There is no charge! It’s that simple!
2. Move Smalls: Once you have decided to use our services, we help you move all the small items such as toys, lamps, end tables etc. from the areas to be cleaned, to a safe location that you designate, to prevent any accidental damage. You can do this prior to our arrival but we prefer to do it with you so we have a safe, clear path to the areas we will need to access.
3. Pre Vacuuming: Before we move any furniture it is extremely important for us to pre vacuum the exposed carpeting to remove any loose dirt and debris. If this is not done prior to cleaning and it mixes with a wet solution…..well we all know what dirt and water mixed together make!
4. Move Furniture: We move the furniture to the center of the room, working it like a jigsaw puzzle, allowing us to work the perimeter of the room, in preparation for the next step.
5. Vacuum Edging: We now move on to vacuuming the edges of the room’s perimeter and wipe down your baseboards to remove any loose dust or debris, then pre vacuum the rest of the carpet.
6. Pre-Treat Spots: Next, we lay down all necessary solutions to loosen spots and treat any pet odors. This is worked into the carpet with a specialty rake to disperse the solutions uniformly, ensuring maximum results.
7. Carpet Cleaning: Now we move on to laying down the actual carbonated cleaning solution and scrub the carpet with our “buffer” like rotary machine, working in several directions to ensure all sides of the carpet fibers are cleaned.
8. Rake & Re-work Spots: After the carpet has been thoroughly cleaned we use the rake again to pull up the pile which will expose any remaining remnants of spotting and if they exist, we work them by hand to try to remove them (please remember, not all “spots” are spots, they may be permanent “stains”).
9. Install Furniture Protectors: We return the furniture to their original location and place moisture barrier pads between any metal or wood feet of the furniture, and the carpet surface. These will prevent any warping or swelling of the furniture’s wood, transference of wood stains to carpet and prevent metal from rusting into the carpet. These may be removed after a sufficient drying period or left there in place (the pads are translucent, so not easily visible and do no harm to the carpet or furniture).
10. Repeat: steps 6 thru 8 are repeated for the remainder of the central areas of the carpet that have not yet been cleaned, and then rake the carpet to pull up the pile for a more uniform look and to help expose the fibers to the air, thus ensuring a quicker dry time (usually 1-2 hrs.).
